Gmail
Connection
Checking connection…
BMO can read mail you ask about. It cannot send, delete, archive, or mark messages as read.
Mail needed for your answer goes to BMO’s configured reasoning provider. Chat summaries are saved in History; raw Gmail tool results are omitted. Connecting does not copy your inbox into the knowledge tree.
Example requests
- “Summarize my latest unread emails.”
- “Find emails from my university this week.”
- “Read that thread and tell me what I need to do.”
Large inboxes are read in small pages. BMO will tell you when a summary covers only part of the results. Attachment contents are not included yet.
First-time Google setup
This prototype needs your own Google OAuth client. You set it up once, then sign in with the Gmail account you want BMO to read.
- Open Google Cloud, choose or create a project, and enable the Gmail API.
- In Google Auth Platform, configure the app name and your contact email. For a personal Gmail account, choose External, keep Testing, and add your Gmail address as a test user. Under Data Access, add
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly. - Create an OAuth client with application type Web application. Add this exact authorized redirect URI:
- Download that client’s JSON file and select it below. It is saved privately on this computer.
Then select Connect Gmail above. Google may show an unverified-app notice for your personal test app. Testing-mode access expires after seven days; use Connect Gmail again when needed. Google’s OAuth documentation
